Renaissance Man Tournament

Welcome Everyone to the Rapier Event of the Summer!
SunDragon's Annual Renaissance Man will be taking place August 15, 2009.
All are welcome to compete for the title of Ren-Man/Woman/Chick/Person!

Activities will include some of the items a true patron of the arts will appreciate:
Bardic, Painting, Fighting, and the ever-popular Political Games!
This year’s theme will be getting to Know Sundragon; as each entrant will compose and perform an on-site ballad to the populace member chosen for them.

Site will open at 1:00pm and closes at 8:00pm. Opening court will be at Their Excellencies pleasure.

Everyone is welcome to enter and compete in the various activities, those competing for the title of
Renaissance-Man will need to enter all categories (Bardic, Painting, Fighting, Dessert, Political Games).
Entrants may have a champion participate on their behalf in one category.

The new Renaissance Man does not need to be from the Barony of Sundragon, but will have the task of being steward for next year's competition within the Baronial Lands.


Dinner will be Pot Luck.
Please bring a dish to share with 6-8 people and your feast gear. If your given last name is:
-A-G: dessert
-H-M: side dish
-N-Z main dish

The site is discreetly damp, all beverages need to be in period containers.
Smoking is permitted 50 feet from the building entrance.

Site Fees: will be $7.00 with proof of membership, $10.00 for Non-members; $3.00 for youth 5-17.

Location: Avondale Boys and Girls Club, 301 E. Western Ave., Avondale AZ 85323

Directions: Take your best route to I-10 and Dysart Rd. (Exit 129)
Go south on Dysart Rd. to East Western Avenue (just before rail road tracks) and turn right (west),
Go through downtown Old Avondale, the Boy’s and Girl’s Club will be on the south side of street,
Turn left (south) on South 3rd St. to reach club parking lot.
